Goblin Point

I fished Goblin Point once late in the day,
Where the big fish swim and like to play,

As I waited, I heard beneath me mutterings of the Goblins and Gremlins lodged in the sandy bank,
Just before a huge toothy fish swallowed my worm, hook and shank,

He took the bait, and I struggled to no avail to land this monstrous fish,
He jerked me off my feet and pulled me into the water with a splash and a splish,

Alas, I am gone I’m sorry to say,
Maybe I shouldn’t have gone fishing that dreadful day,

You’ll find my bones and my face confined with the rest,
Stuck in that sandy bank, as a Goblin no less.

But I do now understand what the mutterings say,
They were all complaining about the one that got away.
