She looked up from her Salade Nicoise to say how much she was enjoying it.
I smirked.
“Why?” she asked. “Because people my size don’t really like eating?”
“No. I just think that my relationship to food is a bit more complicated.”
She returned to her plate.
“Well, you do have a lot invested in it.”
