OTTAWA — In a quiet suburban home in Nepean, Ontario yesterday, a 29-year-old nanny earned a fortune after giving her 16-month-old charge a bath before his nap.
The boy, whose identity cannot be disclosed, does not normally get a bath before his nap, but circumstances required emergency action.
As she removed his clothing to change him before settling him down, it became evident a catastrophic event had occurred.
She immediately rushed the boy, along with her own 11-month-old son, upstairs. She threw her son in a playpen to fend for himself and rushed the older boy to the bathtub.
Ruins from the disaster fell from his pants as she removed the child’s clothing. At one point, the boy even picked up what appeared to be a recycled pea and examined it.
Quick thinking on the nanny’s part, as she grabbed a wipe to take it from him, prevented the boy from eating it. Doctors say if he had consumed the pea, terrible diseases could have resulted.
The heroic nanny swallowed back heaves as she continued with the task of tending to the boy.
How could such a near death occurrence have happened?
Officials say the boy was in his booster seat eating lunch when an explosion occurred.
One scientist described how a combination of the boy’s own weight and the angle at which he was sitting when he leaned forward to ease his strain caused most of the debris to go straight out the back door of the Pampers.
Late yesterday afternoon, the nanny was still recovering from her nausea, as the boy slept soundly in his playpen.
Ever grateful for the swift action and bravery of their trusted nanny, the boy’s parents have agreed to provide a bonus of $1-million in compensation.
Regretfully, the nanny has since opted for early retirement. The boy’s parents are now looking for a new nanny.
